# Michael Scot

Scottish scholar and court astrologer, in Toledo by 1217, then Bologna, the papal curia, and from about 1227 the court of Frederick II. He carried Averroes into Latin; only one of those translations bears his name, and stylometry credits him with the rest. Dante put him among the diviners in hell.
