Chief physician of Reshaina in Mesopotamia, trained in Alexandria under Ammonius, and the first great translator of Greek medicine into Syriac. Hunayn's Risala names twenty-six works of Galen in his versions, three centuries before Hunayn graded and replaced them. He died in Constantinople.
