    Constantine the African

A merchant or scholar from Ifriqiya, probably a Muslim convert to Christianity, who became a monk at Monte Cassino around 1077 and spent two decades turning Arabic medicine into Latin. He presented much of it under his own name, which contemporaries already complained about. He died before 1098 or 1099.
